honoring you.....

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 George McDonough, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

A good friend

Before we both went into the military (I'm a USAF veteran) Jeepy and I hung out at Skate-a-rama in OKC. We became friends and good-natured competitors in Speed Skating. When I heard of his death I was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base just outside of OKC. It was my sad privilege to attend his funeral and honor him by being there to salute his sacrifice to our Country. Last year I found his name on the Travelling Vietnam Wall and again pay my respects with another salute. Rest in Peace, Jeepy. Till we meet again.

A Friend

Jeep, it was fun growing up together and riding our homemade skateboards. We were able to be together in training and I was thankful for that. I remember when I heard you had died, on Easter. It was a sad day for me. When I returned from Vietnam I visited your gravesite at the cemetery not far from where we grew up. You are surely missed my friend.

Jeepy

In junior high school we called him Jeepy, don't remember why. Sweet and kind guy, would have grown up to be a fine man. Day of his funeral was beautiful weather for such a tragic event.
