Loving memories

TERRY; YOUR DEATH WAS, AND CONTINUES TO BE, A TRAGEDY THAT TOUCHES MY LIFE AT SOME POINT EVERY DAY. THE 5 NIECES AND NEPHEWS YOU LEFT BEHIND TALK OF YOUR SACRIFICE PROUDLY AND OFTEN. YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWING YOUR NEPHEW STEPHEN T. ROY, MY OLDEST SON, RETIRED AS A PILOT AND CAPTAIN IN THE USMC, A FEW YEARS AGO, AND YOUR SISTER, PAM'S OLDEST SON, MATT, HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM THE ROTC PROGRAM AT UCONN,(ALONG WITH HIS BACCALAUREATE DEGREE) AND STEVE WAS AT HIS COMMISSIONING CEREMONY TO SWEAR HIM INTO THE US ARMY. MY HUSBAND IS ALSO A VETERAN OF THE US ARMY, KOREAN WAR ERA. THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AND YOUR BELIEF IN THIS CAUSE FOR OUR SAFETY!

I will always remember that laugh!

I went through Signal OCS at Ft. Gordon GA. with Terry. He was a standout not only in performance but also in his humanity and sense of humor. I think of you often Terry. See you in line for the mess hall in heaven!

Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT Terrence M McDermott, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
