Seems like just yesterday
I remember sitting with you at the 13th Sig VHF tent when we came in country together at Camp Evans discussing philosophy. We spent time together in many different situations and I aplaud your perserverence. I can here your voice as if it were yesterday. Rest in peace.

Ground Casualty
Camp Gorvad (Phuoc Vinh firebase) was next to the village of Phuoc Vinh, north of Bien Hoa in Bien Hoa Province, RVN. On February 23, 1969, Camp Gorvad was mortared by the enemy, one of several mortar and rocket attacks the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese launched on Saigon, Da Nang, Hue, Bien Hoa Air Base, and other key targets throughout South Vietnam. Five Americans were killed during the attack on Gorvad, including SFC Guy F. Abbott, SP4 James Berends, SGT Daniel L. Poff, SFC Edward B. Steele, and SGT David H. Sundquist.
