Yesterday was the 56th anniversary of the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Ground Casualty
Lai Khe Base Camp was an Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and U.S. Army base located along Highway 13 to the northwest of Saigon, RVN. On April 25, 1970, the base was hit by enemy rocket fire. One of the rockets slammed into the barracks occupied by engineers from B Company, 554th Engineer Battalion. Three were killed in the blast. They included SP5 Jeffrey B. Dodge, SP5 William F. Dacus, and SP4 Douglas P. McCorkle Jr. Dacus was reportedly only days from be rotated back to the United States.
