Dear Lcpl Harry McCartney, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Time passes quickly, but our world needs help. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Lance Corporal Harry C McCartney has been in my thoughts and prayers since I first saw his names on the Vietnam Memorial 35 years ago. It was a gift —miraculous, how I even discovered it among the 58 thousand inscribed on it. And I wasn’t looking for it, or any name for that matter. But it jumped out to me like a dear cousin might do at a family reunion who I’d not seen in a long time. Pure Providence. Ever since that day I think of him and and thank him for his ultimate sacrifice. May he rest in peace. Amen.
