Major Guy Hector McCarey, Jr. was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V) and Oak Leaf Cluster, for his exemplary gallantry in action. He served as an Infantry Unit Commander (Special Forces Qualified) and was assigned to ADV TEAM 70, HQ, MACV ADVISORS, MACV.
