do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush

DEAR SERGEANT BENSON,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS AN INDIRECT FIRE INFANTRYMAN, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY. IT IS 2017, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE SAINTS AND ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE.

NO SLACK
After doing some research, I discovered Raymond Benson was the soldier who came up with the motto "No Slack" which is still used today by the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. People who have not served in the 2/327 have no idea how important the motto "No Slack" is to the unit. I remember in the jungles of Vietnam hearing troopers say "No Slack" to stay in contact with other infantrymen in the unit. It is the best motto of all the rifle units.
