Remembering You

Eric, you enlisted with my brother Sandy back in 1965. Every year when I come to Washington DC with my eighth grade students we visit the wall, and I tell them your story and show them your name. Know that you are remembered and missed.

Memorial Day 2022

Eric, our nation remembered you and honored your sacrifice at our Memorial Day observances this past Monday, May 30th. The Wall That Heals, the replica of the Memorial in Washington, has been set up in Norwalk, Connecticut, these past four days, Thursday through Sunday. Yesterday morning my wife Nancy and I went there and I touched your name and prayed that your family and friends might find comfort in knowing that you always will be remembered by your brother Vietnam Veterans. We did not know each other or serve together, Eric - I enlisted in the Marines and served in Nam in 1969 - but I was a High School classmate of your brother Scott, we graduated together 3 months before you made the ultimate sacrifice. I honor you today, Eric, and stand in awe of your strength and courage.
