To Your Family

My father, David Russell Palmeter, tried to save you. He held you in his arms as you were dying. He visited your memorial when it was first built. David died in January 2001. He wanted to send his condolences and tell his mother and father he was sorry he could not save you. Today I will visit your name on the wall. My father felt guilty his entire life for living while his friends died. This is my attempt to speak to his family. I hope this reaches you. He never forgot Wesley.

honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age, three days before your 19th birthday. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Wesley Mueller, Thank you for your service as a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the Last Week of Advent, which is love. Christmas is soon, Merry Christmas. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Your Relatives Never Forget

From the time I was a young child, I knew your story despite the fact that I was born 8 years after you were killed. Our family remembers and honors you, and continues to do so through the generations. We have several rubbings of your name from the wall in Washington, D.C. as each time we have been there, we have taken one. You have been included in school Memorial Day programs honors as well as family discussions. Your memory continues to live on in my descendents. Never forgotten.
