Remembering My Uncle
Mike was a loving son to his mother, Susie, and a loving father to his 3 year old daughter, Misty Dawn. On October 25, 1967 (3 months before he died) he wrote to his mother, "This could be my last letter. I hope and pray to God that it won't be. I wish I could make you proud of me...I hope Misty will someday know of her father and I hope I have pleased her by trying to make a man of myself." Shortly before his death, he wrote home that "I feel better than I ever felt in my whole life. I know I may never see you and my loved ones again. I no longer live in fear. I am living with my Master in my heart and mind. I have learned the right way to live, and that is to live for and with Christ every second of my life." Mike was a fire team leader in his platoon and his Commanding Officer wrote that he was one of the finest Marines he had ever known.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear LCPL Michael Eugene Morris, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
