honoring you.....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

My memories as an 11 year old cousin

In my memories my cousin Billy was so grownup. Before he became a Marine at the age of 17, he had a motorcycle and a job and was the fun, older cousin. Now, that 52 years have passed, 18 seems so young. To this day, every time I hear taps I am instantly transported to a cold February day, under a funeral tent, huddled with other cousins, all of us in tears. I remember the exotic flowers his buddies had sent from Hawaii on his grave. I remember the soldiers and the flag draped casket. I only wish I had more memories of him alive.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Billy Moore, Thank you for your service as an Artillery Tracked Vehicle Repairman, Self-Propelled. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Thanksgiving is soon, happy Thanksgiving in heaven. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
