Have some contact with Linda, but for her sake or mine dont bring up the war. I. cant find any way out of that country. Am near you now & will visit. Friend.

He Was A Good Friend.

I Knew Him Well Enough To Call Him "My Friend". I Went Through "Boot Camp" ITR, BITS & Staging With Him. Upon Arrival In V.N. Some Of Us Including Richard Were Sent SW To The 5th Marine Regt. We Were All Split Up Among The 1st,2nd & 3rd Bn. I Went To The 1st. He Went To The 3rd Bn. Never Matter "We Always Seemed To Run Into Each Other". He Went Home On Emergency Leave. I Think His Brother Had Been Killed In An Auto Accident? I Saw Him When He Came Back. He Could Have Stayed Home & "Got Out Of There". But "No That Wasn't His Way". He Wanted To Rejoin His Platoon. "Sleep Well My Friend."

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Richard Thomas Miller, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
