honoring you....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Memorial Day 2021

I woke up this morning thinking about Gary as I have many days since he passed away in my arms on an operation north of Chu Lai. He was my radio operator and friend. We were together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the time we arrived in country. Gary was loyal, fun loving and very competent. One of the hardest days I ever had was three years after arriving back in the United States. I went to Grass Valley, CA to meet his parents and his grandmother. I wanted to share with them what a fine son they had and how proud they could be of both him and his service. I will never forget him or his friendship. Semper Fi brother.

Thank You

Dear Lcpl Gary Miller, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was Columbus Day. Today is also the birthday of the Navy. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
