KIA 50th anniversary of Janis

In 2018 while landscaping my parents family plot I noticed a mostly sod covered dark gray grave marker. I cut away the sod but the marble was heavily stained. I came back the next day with a power washer and muriatic acid and
it came out pure white again. Janis's mother died later in '68 and I speculate she died of a broken heart. Since it was the 50th anniversary year of Janis being KIA and just a few days before Memorial Day I decided to take care of his military headstone from now on for as long as I can. This is the 7th year I've been doing maintenance and summited photos from 2018 showing the restoration. This is for Janis and the guys who served with him in Vietnam. Janis's grave is at Woodlawn cemetery Detroit Michigan. Never forget the sacrifice.

Thank You

Dear Sp5 Janis Miculs, Thank you for your service as a Flight Qualified Huey, UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is another autumn. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

To a Fellow Stagecoach Crew Member

Last Memorial Day I was asked to speak at a local ceremony concerning my Vietnam experience. I took the opportunity to read the eight names of the crew members and pilots killed in a tragic accident during my tour in the 155th AHC. Rest in Peace Janis, you are still remembered and mourned.
