My Uncle Michael
Though you and I had never met, I have your picture next to your father, Don and brother, Peter, in my home where I can always see you. I was told of a poem you wrote, asking the world not to forget those that served and sacrificed for their country.
Uncle Michael, in reading these previous posts, please know you will never be forgotten. Your great nephew was given your Indian name and carries it proudly.
I pray that when it's my time, I'll see you and give you such a bear hug. I love and miss you much, Uncle Michael. Thank you for your service and for my freedom.

honoring you.....
War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

I just found this site. I knew you went to Vietnam. We were together in grade school in Stockton. For whatever reason we weren’t friends, but I was sad when I found out you were killed over there. Rest in peace. You gave all, I was able to make it home from there.
