Thank You
Dear Lt Joseph Melsonson, Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Leader. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is POW/MIA Recognition Day, and another summer is coming to end. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Lt. Melonson was my platoon leader. I watched him turn left up a ridgeline.
An ambush awaited. They had us. Also lost was John Hale. The men were
upset to a point of inconsolability. He was loved and respected by the platoon.
His confidence, skill, knowledge and strength became instilled in us. It gave us
hope that he would get us through the war safely. Many others were wounded
that day. My age is 67 years old. I have PTSD. I will carry these memories
always. My prayers and thoughts are with his family, then and always.
