I’m remembering you still today 4/12/25
In grammar school they called you “Stewie.” You were a superior kind of guy, highly respected. I didn’t know you that well. But I have wept over your name on the wall. You were a winner, Stewie. Handsome, a superior athlete, always a nice guy. A winner.

Good Old Days
Around 1959 I was playing baseball in the Tri Boro Little League. I was from Neptune City, Stew was from Bradley Beach but we played all our games in Avon, on Main Street near Shark River inlet. Way out in right field there was a large billboard. Everybody wanted to bounce one off that billboard but I know of no one that ever did. Then one game I was catching, Stew a left hand hitter was at bat and he connected with one big time. It did not hit the billboard it went all the way over it. It was shocking and I can still see it. Stew became a legend that night.

Thank You
Dear Lt Stewart Melnick, Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Commander. Your 52nd anniversary just passed, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is POW/MIA Recognition Day, and another summer is coming to end, and Happy New Year. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
