A Good Friend
I met you in basic at ft knox. We became best friends. Helped each other thru the rough times. We were going to meet after we got out of the army. I was home on leave before being sent to Germany when I read in the paper that you were killed. I went to visit your family before I was leaving. Your parents were devastated. I went to see you the day before I left. I met your wife. I think of you often even though its been over 50 years. You were a good friend.
