I am Mike's cousin who served in the Marine Corps 88-92
Michael is a legend in the family. I recall going to my uncle Archie and Aunt Fannie (don't laugh, I loved that woman) who were his grandparents. They used to sit around and talk about how wonderful of a human being he was and it devastated them when he was killed. For years, Betty (they called her Betty Red) used to receive cards from Vietnam supposedly at Christmas time. I am not sure that was true or if she was holding onto hope (I recall this in the 70s when I was very young and used to play on the farm in Kansas City. Anyway, our family has four generations of marines that I am aware of, Mike being the second. Semper Fi, cousin.

Thank You
Dear Lcpl Michael Meginn, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was Constitution Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear LCPL Michael Meridith Meginn, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
