My Son Is Named for Him
When I was growing up, Chris was one of the people I admired most. He had a quiet fearlessness about him and yet was in every sense a poet. He was the last person who should have gone to war, yet if I served with him, I couldn't think of a person I would rather stand with or lead me. I loved him and his wonderful family. In 1970, I named my son for him.

As you smile from heaven
I never knew your face (only in pictures)
I never heard your laughter only through stories
I never got to know you but knew you very well
A savior, protector a rock hard and strong
Your siblings adore you, There children as well
Its hard to know what they lost that day A man of a million words some like to say. Chris my name is Brendan of course you know my name. I want to say thank you for being who you were Im proud to say I am A Meagher because of the legacy we carry on. Thank you Chris for making us free I love you and so does the family

Gone but not Forgotten
Chris, I recall the good times we had together "in country". Eventhough, it was rough, your upbeat personality and optimism made our tour of duty quite bearable. I remember you winning that 3 day in country R&R for exceptional performance. You were always willing to take "point" when everyone else was hesitant, and ready to take charge when necessary. Thanks for those memories.
