Always Nearby
I have had your braclet since 1971 while serving with the United State's Air Force and have always wondered "what if". Rest in peace "hero".

I've thought of you since 1966
To the loving family and friends of 'USN Commander Roderrick Lewis Mayer'
I've been wearing 'my-your' POWMIA since 1966! I was 16 at the time I received this very precious bracelet. I too was in the Navy, did my tour in Nam for 18 months and 'my-your' bracelet was there with me, all the time! Roderick is very much part of my life. I still have a place in my mind, soul and heart that will forever belong to the 'Commander'. I wanted so much to let you all know how sorry I am for your loss. I continue to pray for him and he will never - ever be forgotten by me! God bless you all and keep you safe.

If I should die...remembrances for LCDR Roderick Lewis MAYER, USN...who made the ultimate sacrifice!
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Frye – 1932
