Ground Casualty

SP4 Jerry E. Maurer was a Unit Supply Specialist serving with the 506th Engineer Detachment. In September 1967, SP4 Maurer was in his ninth month in Vietnam when he became ill. He was evacuated to the 106th Army General Hospital in Yokohama, Japan, where he died November 18, 1967, from a hepatic coma brought on by an infection or inflammation of the liver.
