Ground Casualty
SN Robert D. Mason was a seaman serving with Camp Carter Detachment, Naval Support Activity Da Nang, USNAVFORV. On December 21, 1967, SN Mason was reportedly showing a firearm to a friend at Camp Carter in Qunag Nam Province, RVN, when the weapon accidently discharged.
