In your memory

I attended a memorial service this morning and had the honor to burn a retired flag in your memory. I’m honoring you every way I can. Your memory will live forever. I love you brother.

56 long years

Hey brother, wanted to document what I have learned over the past few months. I was contacted by a gentleman by the name of Dennis McMillion. We have corresponded several times and would like to meet one day. I emailed him this morning and heard back tonight. He has been slowly telling me about that fateful day and opened up more today. He was beside you when you were shot. He has great guilt. To know he was probably the last person to speak to you gives me a sort of peace. I pray you didn’t suffer and saw God’s face immediately. I miss you and my love will never end.

Memorial Day 2024

Hey brother, I have honored you today (and everyday). A Veterans Memorial was dedicated this morning and a brick with your name has been placed. I miss you so so much. Give my love to Mom, Dad and Jerry. I love you.

we will remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Old Friend

Old friend, I miss you. It has been 53 years since you left us. I can remember that day, we all thought we would die. I still think of you often and sometimes wonder what it would have like if both of us made it back. I talk to the medic that called me over to help you before the dustoff came. He also remember you. He was Jim Hennessey. We remember you! You will not be forgotten. We all are starting to have our own problems now, so I will see you again and we can talk of the old times. Miss you.
