Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

From a fellow Dustoff medic

You were trying to complete a mission we'd been on earlier that Veterans' Day, 11Nov65, to rescue a wounded Korean. We were ambushed (I was the only one not wounded), and had to abandon the mission. Later that night, you and Allred and Esposito died in our place.

I finally made it to The Wall this past Veterans' Day, and took rubbings of your names...

I thank you for your service, and your sacrifice.

Thank You Gilivaldo

Dear Gilivaldo,
I a student at Gridley High School in Gridley Illinois that is doing a project
involving reading about those who gave their lives during the Vietnam War and writing
remembrances for them. Even though we have never met, I would like to thank you for
your bravery and dedication during the Vietnam War. You have helped defend our
country and for that I am truely thankful. May God bless you for all that you did.
Sincerely,
Kelsey Zehr
