THE WALL OF FACES

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. We should be forever thankful for the sacrifices of you and so many others to ensure the freedoms we so often take for granted.

PS Your 76th birthday was 2 days ago, happy birthday.

Dear Sgt William Martin, Thank you for your service as a Medical NCO with the Special Forces. Thank you for the lives you saved. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Independence Day is this weekend. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Bill was our junior medic at Duc-Co Special Forces Camp. He and I were paired up often for patrols and he was a very brave man. We were ran out of Duc-Co in February 1967 by the NVA and Bill and I were sent to different A-Camps.

It has been almost 50 years and I stumbled on this picture of him and I do not recognize him. I thought I would never forget him. He died so young. Sad, very sad.

William is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. section J, site 1605, 14th row in from the north, 25th column in from the west.
