I remember Larry from Our Saviours Parish and 451 East 185th in the Bronx.
I last saw Larry as he left the rectory of Our Saviour's Church. I think it was about 1966? He and Father McKenna had just stepped out of the office into the small alcove that preceded the main door to the rectory. Father Mckenna and Larry shook hands, then Larry put on his sunglasses just then
sun shone brightly on them both and as I was busy with my schoolmates I remember saying to myself, "I didn't know that Larry was an Eagle Scout." It wasn't till many months later that the neighborhood heard the news that he had been killed in action in Viet Nam. Not until very recently have I been able to find out Larry's last name and a friend of mine led me to this site. Larry was in that group of older guys that you hoped would ask you, a younger guy, to join them in a stickball game. I remember you Larry . When I saw you that afternoon with Father McKenna I just never imagined that you were even old enough to be in the USMC. Thank you for your service, may God continue to bestow Blessings on you and all your family and that wonderful girlfriend you had at that time, Joyce.

honoring you.....
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
