THE WALL OF FACES

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. We should be forever thankful for the sacrifices of you and so many others to ensure the freedoms we so often take for granted.

I have visited this page many times over the years and thought of Doug often. We dated when we were very young and stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador. We had such fun. My dad was stationed in Colorado Springs when Doug started at the Air Force Academy in 1965. Good times there too. The last time I spoke with Doug was in 1970. He was always the same guy: fun, kind and determined to fly. I thank him for being the wonderful person he was. I'm so sorry he didn't make it home. He is a true American hero.

You were one of the sweetest of all kids on the “Goose”. You were always smiling and so gracious. Loved the times I spent with you and Kenny on the ski slopes. RIP sweet Doug.

Dear Cap Douglas Martin, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Fighter Pilot, and for graduating for the USAFA. I am glad you were identified in 1999. Welcome Home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Father’s Day just passed, and it’s summer. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
