2023 - 75th Birthday, 55 years of missing your smiling face.

As always my Grands and I cleaned your headstone, planted flowers for Memorial Day.
At 83 i climb that hill a little slower and hold on to a Grandson on the way down. There is not a day I do not pass your little dog that fell out of you combat boots when they came home to us. It sits beside your first stuffed animal and picture in front of your Amtrack in Nam. So many memories of the twenty years we had together. You were my dearest little "brother" cousin. Sorry it took months to get this recorded. So much going on with my large family. We all love and remember you. Cousin Puddy -Mary Eileen Sweeney Cubarney

My family has never forgotten you

My grandmother (Margaret Duncan) has a couple pictures of you on a wall and bookcase. I’ve heard a few stories of you and wanted to thank you for your service. Since my grandmother passed, I now have her newspaper clippings and I believe a handout from the funeral service. I’ll post it when I can.

74th Birthday

Dearest Skipper,
We cleaned your gravestone and planted flowers last Saturday. The Vets had been there and placed a new flag. I told about the time I took you on the elevator in the Clark Building and we laughed. My 3 oldest who are 62, 60 and 58 believe they remember you coming on your cycle and giving them a ride in the driveway the day before you left. Hard to say if they do or it is the pictures that hang for so many years, reminding us of the last time we saw you. Down thru these many years, you have been remembered and loved by all of us. At my wedding reception on 6/6/59 we had a cake and sang happy birthday to you, Patrick and your cousin Mary Ann. Love you!

Remembering Always

Dearest Skipper, We will be decorating the graves on Sunday. One of my sons and two of his kids. We talk of you always. Hard for me to believe that you would be 75 on June 6. To me you are always the young man who drove his bike out of my driveway to fly to The Palms Base and never return. Love you, miss you still.
