Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Glenn Eugene Luhnow, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Remembrance
Glenn Eugene Luhnow was drafted into the Army 6 months before he was killed in Vietnam. He spent 6 weeks as a machine gunner with Company D, 4th Battalion, 9th infantry (Manchu), 25th Infantry Division. He died at 12:18, October 14, 1967 on a search and destroy mission in the Ho Bo Woods.
During his time in Vietnam he turned 22 and celebrated his 1st wedding anniversary. He left behind a wife pregnant with his only child. He wanted a daughter to play with his 9-month-old niece, Lisa Marie, who he adored. He has a daughter Glennda Gene Luhnow who was born 6 months after his death. He now has a grandson, Glenn Jakob Luhnow who he will also never know. The grief remanins and all we have is a name to pass to each generation in his memory.

Glenn Eugene Luhnow
Glenn Eugene Luhnow was my father. He was killed in Vietnam on 14 October 1967. My mother was pregnant with me.Everyone says my dad was a happy guy. He liked to have a good time and surfed and played pool and bowled with his buddies and my mom. He loved the Giants and Willie Mays. He went to see Willie and the Giants play at Candlestick Park before he left to go to Vietnam. We will all be together in the end. We love you and we will see you soon. We cannot wait. Our Lord is our Shepherd.
