THE WALL OF FACES

Lowe, we called each other by our last names in Boot Camp, and I were in Boot Camp together June to September 1964. We were 18-year-old young kids, learning to meet men. Over those three months, he transformed from a high school kid to a man willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for his country. I am proud to have served and known him.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
