An Old Friend

Anthony and I grew up together in East Nashville, we lived on the same block. We spent a lot of time together playing ball and doing what young kids do. Anthony's family moved to Smithville when he was 12 or 13 I believe. He missed his friends from East Nashville so his Mom got several of us to come up and spend a weekend with him, it was good times. I lost contact with Anthony after that. I went in the military about the same time as he did. I stayed 35 years and retired. I saw many like Anthony that paid the ultimate sacrifice, they were great Americans. Can you imagine how this world would be had we not lost those great people. RIP my friend, I pray to see you again one day.
