Gone But Not Forgotten
PFC Kenneth Edward Beauregard (19) was born 12/24/1946 and was from New Bedford, Massachusetts. He was the son of Victor J Beauregard. When he arrived in Vietnam he was assigned to Company G of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division as a rifleman. On March 4, Operation UTAH was launched under the command of Task Force Delta in the Son Thinh District of Quang Ngai Province where the Marines would encounter elements of the 21st NVA Regiment. The 2nd Battalion 4th Marines made a Helicopter assault the morning of 5 March in which several helicopters were shot down by 50 cal. machine guns. TG Company got heavily engaged with the enemy in the vicinity An Tuyet, Quang Ngai Province. The company came under extremely heavy small-arms and automatic weapons fire from Viet Cong forces entrenched on a commanding ridgeline. Numerous casualties were inflicted on the platoon and many fell in areas exposed to annihilating fire until 1100 hours when they broke contact to consolidate with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines near Hill 50. Kenneth died as a result of small arms fire 5 March. He is interred at Sacred Hearts Cemetery - New Bedford, Massachusetts
and is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Wall, Panel 05E, Line 113.
