Never Forgotten Hardcore Recondo CPL. Doug Lohmeyer

Doug,
I've never forgotten you since we served together with the 4th/39th Inf. 9th Div. @ FSB Danger, Vietnam.
You were courageous, a leader, a Brother and no matter what situation we were in you always had a smile to make it better.
Rest in peace in the heavens with all the warriors my Brother......You Are Not Forgotten.
Thank you for your service and the ultimate sacrifice you gave....Happy Veterans Day.

Veterans Day

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. I think of you all the time but tomorrow is a big deal. It’s sad to me how people don’t acknowledge those who served with just a simple thank you. Then there are the ones like you my friend who made the ultimate sacrifice, I’m so sorry. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over losing my best friend so for now just know I’m thinking of you wishing you were here to wish you a Happy Veterans Day.

My best friend

Today marks the 51st year since we lost Doug. I wish everyone reading this could have me him because you would of loved this guy. Full of life, fun and compassion. There’s an old saying, only the good die young”. I don’t know that to be true but it certainly is in Doug’s case. I still miss him every day and you would if you had known him. Please allow him to continue to Rest In Peace.
