remembering our 8th Grade classmates who died in VietNam

I knew 3 boys from my eighth- grade class at St. John the Evangelist grade school in Silver Spring, Md. that were killed in the VietNam War. We all went to eighth grade (and previous grades) together but went to different High schools. I do remember Kevin Coyne, Frank (Trippy) Streeks, and Robert (Bobby) Liverman really well. After High school we all lost touch and went different directions in our lives. I did learn of their deaths in Vietnam when I went to my 8th grade 10 year reunion in 1974 at St. Johns. By that time, I had gone to college and became a Registered Nurse and married my USCG husband. The 8th grade reunion was fun but I especially remember seeing the special memorial out in front of the room dedicated to Kevin, Trippy and Bobby who all had died before their 21 birthdays in VietNam. The Memorial was touching and beautifully done. It was a nice reunion but we all really missed and talked about our special 3 classmates who were no longer with us.

Thank You

Dear Lcpl John Liverman, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is another spring, but like none other. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
