Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Frye – 1932

A song, a date, a place......brings memories of you
I can still remember us driving pass the Warwick Hotel in Houston, Texas on May 16, 1965 and you turned to me and asked me to be "your girl". I excitedly said "yes" and looked at the time. It was 11:46 p.m.
Whenever I hear "My Girl", I think of all the times you would dedicate that song to me at dances.
When I hear "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" or our song, "I Love How You Love Me".
Frankie, I was so proud when you joined the Marines. Then you came home on leave at Christmas and told me you were going to Viet Nam. You were an only child and should have never gone, but you wanted to. You made my brother, your cousins and me promise that we would not tell your Mother.
On April 6, 1966 the telegram came in. Your Aunt Lydia called to give me the sad news. I wouldn't believe her. I thought it was another prank call like so many others going on at that time. It took your cousin, Bertha, to tell me.
Frankie, time has lead me in a different direction. I have been married, had four children, divorced and remarried.
My present husband, Rudy Rodriguez, also knew you from our old neighborhood. He thought alot of you. He knows how proud I am of him as a VietNam Veteran, along with all my brothers and friends that served and were able to come home. He also knows that I am proud of you and still grieve for my lost of you.....
PFC Joe Frank Liserio, "My Little Marine"
As I write this we are less than 2 hours away from possibly going to war with Iraq.
I pray that GOD with mercy and grace will grant my desire to see you in heaven some day, in Jesus Mighty name.....
Love,
Linda Ramirez Rodriguez
