Benton La. native with Percy at Fort Polk

We were in basic training together and I had the opportunity to talk with Percy many times. Funny that we initially started talking and found out we were from the same town of Benton. I was in the all white high school and he went to C.H. Irion and we both hit it off because we both baled hay during the summers. I ended up becoming a medic so I never saw him after that but I heard while I was in Vietnam that he had been killed. He was a really nice guy with a big smile and I think about him every year during Memorial Day. Rest in peace Percy.

To a good friend

Percy; You were a good friend and a great soldier. You had the greatest smile in the world. You would have been a great asset to your community. Strong with the courage of a lion, yet kind and good to your fellow Troopers. You were a great inspiration to me. God Bless and Rest in Peace, Trooper.
