Good Bye, Dennis.

Although we knew each other only a short time, SSG Dennis Lindsay was my best friend in Viet Nam. He had volunteered for a 2nd tour. He was the Company Clerk for Company B Medical, 173rd Airborne Brigade at Landing Zone (LZ) English - near Bong Song, RVN.

For 9 of my 12 months, I was detailed to LZ Uplift, south of English. On the morning of that day in 1969, I flew back to English from a country-wide drug abuse conference held in Nha Trang. I stopped and talked to Dennis for a while, then hitched a ride back to Uplift.

That afternoon, we learned that Co B came under mortar and rocket attack. Dennis was killed.

Thank You

Dear Ssgt Dennis Lindsey, Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Personnel Specialist. Your 74th birthday is in 2 days, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is Easter Thursday, and the last day of Passover. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
