Cousin Rememberd
John, being my oldest cousin by nine years was a remarkable person. At family gatherings John always had time for his younger cousins. His inspiration led me to learn the game of golf.
In the fall of 1969 I was stationed at Fort Ord, California for Basic Training in the Army. John, at the time was stationed at the Naval Base in Monterey. On weekends he would drive over to the Army Base to visit me. On one occasion when I was able to get leave John picked me up and took me to Monterey to spend the weekend with his family. His friendship and encouragement helped me get through the rigors of basic and the uncertainty of being away from home and family.
I will never forget the day that I learned of His passing in January 1973. I lost a cousin, friend and mentor.
John had an undying love for his family, his friends, the Navy, and this Great Nation.
John, you are missed and You will always be remembered.
