My dad, now in Heaven, spoke of you often
I am thankful for 2nd Lt. Adamson. My dad, Steve DeVries, knew Don from Creston, and often spoke of a time that Don had helped him regarding his schooling. He teared up every time he told me the story of your help and of your ultimate sacrifice. I would love to meet your family some day just to say thanks.

I was an OSC and Ranger Classmate of Don Adamson
Don was a good friend who served with me as the Supply Officer in OC Company #5-65. He was also a Ranger Classmate. Throughout our service together, I was touched by his unfailing good nature. He was next in line ahead of me when signing in to the 1 CAV DIV 15 July 1965. Unknowingly, he was the last 2LT to receive an Airborne slot in the division. When I stepped up and requested Airborne, I was told the last slot had been given to the "Officer before me." Later Don and I laughed about it. It was a very sad day when a few of us in another Battalion learned of his passing in battle by hostile fire. The years 1965 and 1966 were not kind to OC Class #5-65 and Ranger Class #10-66. Don was one of the really good men not to survive those years in Vietnam. R.I.P. Ranger. We'll meet again on Fiddlers' Green.

do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never truly die....
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never truly die....
