You're not forgotten

Doc, It's been 50 years but i still remember you. While I was in visiting my daughter and her family in OKC last month I made the drive to Stroud to see the memorial your home town has for you and the others who paid the hightest price. I just wanted to pay my respects. It was an honor to serve
with you. Rest in peace brother."Pops" D 2/5 1st Cav.

My dear Friend, and Classmate

My dear Pete,
We had so many good times. I remember most all of them. I can't remember the War without thinking of how selfless you were to sign up again and go back when you could of come home. Always thinking of others. You are so missed by me and all of our gang. Love you then, now and forever, dear Pete.

We Knew Him as Pete

Pete was older than I - I remember him as the energetic, brash, smart, older brother of Bill and Bobby. He played on the Stroud High football team. We all knew he had plans for his life and ambition. I heard he wanted to be a doctor. Our high school English teacher, Miss Hazel Standridge, thought highly of Pete, and that was a badge of merit. Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our country, Pete. May your life and legacy be remembered always.
