Fond memories

I am Irwin's cousin and have many great memories of traveling up to Connecticut from NYC to visit Irwin, Michael and their parents Eli and Anita.

Irwin was a super role model and a great baseball player.

It is unfortunate that he had to sacrifice his life for such a wasted cause. He left a wife and 5 children behind.

I miss him.

Ps Also miss his younger brother Michael who led a very disturbed later life and unfortunately committed suicide. I named my daughter Michelle Gina Anne Feigin in honor of Michael and his mother , my Aunt Anita.

My Role Model "Paying attention to Little Kids"

I am currently and active duty Navy Captain and wanted to let the world know what a hero Major Lerner was in my life and too me. He was 11 years older than myself but i remember growing up in New York and visiting he and his brother Michael in Connecticut. Irwin would play basketball, give us rides in his car and most importantly take the time the pay attention to a couple of little kids. I always looked up to him and he remains to this day a role model and hero in my eyes. In my career I have experienced war but nothing like Vietnam. My experiences have only helped to make my admiration for those that served in Vietnam greater and making my rememberance of my cousin that much larger and closer to my heart. I miss him.
