honoring you...

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Lester Leopold, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Spring! For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I will never forget you. You were definity a hero in my eyes. RIP

Don't know if you remember me, but I was your gun team leader, and the man with you on that last medivac. Only GOD knows why you and not me, and he wont tell me. Let me put your mind at rest and tell you that the M-60 ammo you were trying to get up front to the gun, it got there and was a Godsent! Rest in Peace man, you did everything you could and it was plenty.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Lester Harold Leopold, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
