He Was My Platoon Sgt.

We served together at the Marine Corps Reserve Unit in Kansas City. It was the first time that the term K.I.A. really hit me. I participated in his military burial. After all these years it's still difficult for me to hear taps being played. Sgt. Leon was a first rate Marine.

Thank You

Dear Sgt Pedro Leon, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. I researched you on your 53rd anniversary, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Spring! For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Pedro Leon Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
