A LRRP Teammate
Jackie Leisure was an excellent LRRP Team Leader of Team Wildcat 1, Co.F/52nd Inf.(LRP), 1st Infantry
Division. He was killed in action on 12 May, 1968, while leading his team in a "heavy" (combined) team
mission of which our Team Wildcat 2 was the other one involved. He was a great soldier, and was killed on
one of our most successful missions. He and Roger Anderson, his ATL, were hit while recovering
documents and wounded NVA prisoners from a thicket outside of Phu Loi, RVN. He was nearly
done with his Nam tour, due to get out of the field following this final mission. He will be forever
missed by all of us who knew him and had been privileged to have served with him.
