I purchased your bracelet at the Colorado State Fair, Pueblo, Colorado approximately two months after your reported casualty date. I was ten years old. I now live in
Alexandra, VA across the Potomac River from
Washington, DC. Now that I have found you, I will lay the now broken bracelet at your name. Rest in peace. Fair winds and following seas.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am heartened you returned home after the passage of so many years though I wish it had been under very different circumstances.
