honoring you...
War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Thank You
Dear Lcpl Paul Le Houllier, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Spring! For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Silver Star Medal Citation
Paul R. Lehoullier
Silver Star
AWARDED FOR ACTIONS
DURING Vietnam War
Service: Marine Corps
Rank: Lance Corporal
Battalion: 3d Battalion
Division: 1st Marine Division (Rein.), FMF
GENERAL ORDERS:
CITATION:
The President of the United States of America takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Lance Corporal Paul R. Lehoullier (MCSN: 2336494), United States Marine Corps, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving as a Radio Operator with Company I, Third Battalion, First Marines, FIRST Marine Division (Rein.), FMF, in connection with operations against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam. On 5 April 1969, Company I was conducting a search and destroy operation south of DaNang when the Marines came under a heavy volume of automatic weapons fire from a hostile unit occupying concealed emplacements in a tree line and sustained several casualties. Completely disregarding his own safety, Lance Corporal Lehoullier unhesitatingly maneuvered across the fire-swept terrain from one wounded Marine to another, rendering first aid treatment and words of encouragement to the men. Informed that one element of the unit, including some injured Marines, were isolated from the main body of the company, Lance Corporal Lehoullier fearlessly exposed himself to the intense enemy fire to go to their aid. Ignoring the hostile rounds impacting around him, he carried one of the casualties to a covered location and was returning through the dangerous area to evacuate another casualty when he was mortally wounded by an enemy sniper. By his courage, sincere concern for his fellowmen and selfless devotion to duty, Lance Corporal Lehoullier inspired all who observed him and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service. He gallantly gave his life for his country.

NOT FORGOTTEN
I was 11 or 12 when visiting my grandfathers grave when they laid you to rest. I knew then, that I wanted to serve my country, and I did. To this day, I drive by your grave everyday and thank you for your service and courage. You will never be forgotten.
