ROTC
Al Brudno was my Flight Commander my freshman year of ROTC. Very good, helpful and dedicated guy. I was shocked to learn he was in the Hanoi Hilton, thrilled when he was released and then deeply saddened when he left us.

Heros are Never Forgotten
Major Brudno, you are a hero in the deepest sense of the word. I just read your letters in the book "Dear America: Letters home from Viet Nam." I continued to research you on the Internet because your story touched me. Thank you for your service and the ultimate sacrifice you gave to our country. You have touched my life. Your family must be so proud. You are a real hero.

Never knew
I drove thru Quincy Ma. many times to go to Red Sox games, Logan airport and party in Kenmore Sq. after I got out of the Marines.
I never knew the story of this America hero. Next time I go thru Quincy, you'll surely be on my mind.
God Bless you Captain Brudno

Wish you were here by Pink Floyd
So you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your Heroes for ghosts
Hot ashes for trees,
Did you exchange
A walk on part in a war
For a lead roll in a cage?
How I wish,
How I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year....
Running over the same old ground
And have we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here!
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
