THE WALL OF FACES

I was the Radio man for Lt. Plunkett when the call came in of spotting enemy as we were set up in a perimeter. The Lts. response. As stated in the Genieva convention, you are not to fire until fired upon. I will never forget the incident. Joe was shot and killed also with friendly fire. Joe did not deserve to die that way. I was so angry when the medical chopper flew in, I walked outside the perimeter firing my M79. Joe will never leave my heart for the man he was a giving,loving soul that comforted many who entered the war.

Bronze Star Medal Award for Valor

Specialist Four Joseph Charles Lazicki was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action. He served as an Infantryman and was assigned to A CO, 2ND BN, 3RD INFANTRY, 199TH INFANTRY BDE.
