On the remembrance of your 70th birthday, your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Harold, I remember you being home on leave before you were shipped to Vietnam. I also remember the news of you sacrificing YOUR ALL for our freedom. I was at school when we heard of your death. Two Soldiers Came to the door and ask my grandmother if she knew where Mrs. Helen Beach lived and ask her if she would go with them to the residence and tell your mother about your death. I remember the community gathering at your family’s home. You were brought to the residence with soldiers that stood by the casket and I remember the 21 gun salute, the folding of the flag and presented to your mother. Harold you gave your all and I thank you for your service and all you done for our country. There is so much more I could say, but one thing is for sure, you were loved by a lot of people in the Rich Mountain community. Rest In Peace Harold. ( I was 8 years old when this happened) but I still remember this sad time.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A GRUNT. CHRISTMAS IS HERE.AND WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU. THE NEW YEAR IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE SAINTS AND ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE.
